Richard Pearce

Richard Pearce is best known for his animation work. He is the voice of DENNIS THE MENACE (BBC), BUDGIE THE HELICOPTER (ITV) and OSWALD (Channel 5). In addition he has appeared in THE FARAWAY TREE (BBC) THE MAGIC KEY (BBC) NUMBERTIME (BBC) AGGRIPINE (Channel 5) MACDONALD'S FARM (ITV) The ANIMATED DON QUIXOTE (Right Angle) as well as appearances in THE ANIMATED SHAKESPEARE and THE ANIMATED BIBLE (S4C).

Richard has appeared in over 500 radio dramas and was twice a member of the BBC radio drama company. He played opposite Sir John Gielgud in "TALES MY FATHER TAUGHT ME" and in an extraordinary variety of radio parts ranging from "The Mekon" in DAN DARE to the last castrato in "ANGEL OF ROME." He is the only man ever to have given birth on radio and once he played a Waitress opposite Brenda Bleythyn in a popular radio comedy series, because the Producer had forgotten to cast the part. Richard decided to invent a new actress and the Producer, Richard Wilson was going to put his name in the Radio Times as an anagram, but sadly, the only one they could come up with was Erica Crapherd, so he went in as "Mildred Pierce" instead! Mildred never worked again but neither was she ever rumbled.

Richard has voiced toys, English language courses, computer games, numerous commercials, he has dubbed Japanese cartoons and revoiced a major character in a hugely successful Hollywood movie (but only a sizeable bribe would induce him to say who).
