Gráinne Gillis was commissioned to write and present a series on women composers for Lyric FM in Ireland. The series was Critics’ Choice in the Irish Times for its 4-week duration. Since then she has worked for RNIB, Oakhill Publishing, and Goldcrest Studios. Highlights have included working with Grammy award-winning producer David Rapkin on “Riot” for Random House USA, recording the Man Booker nominee “On Canaan’s Side” by Sebastian Barry for Clipper Audio. Later this month she will record Emma Hannigan’s memoir of dealing with cancer “Talk to the headscarf”, also for Clipper Audio. Having been born in New York, and brought up in Cork, Gráinne has a warm, authoritative and unique voice, with an accent that has been described as mid-Atlantic.
