Marie Rabe (Swedish)

Marie was born in Gothenburg but raised in the small town of Falköping in Västergötland, Sweden. From her first ‘Writing&Acting’ summer camp at the age of 10, she knew she wanted to be an actress. So after keeping busy with any drama groups she could find in her area she studied Drama at Katedralskolan in Skara (High School). She was also the first student in 5 years to graduate with straight A’s in all 28 studied modules!

With that small town confidence she moved on to ‘bigger and better’ -  London to get a degree in Drama, Theatre and performance studies at Roehampton University.

After that Marie did a one year Advanced Diploma in Acting, graduating with honors in 2009 from London School of Dramatic Art. Whilst at LSDA she received an extensive training in voice work.  Since graduating she has done all acting she can get her hands on; short films, independent films, theatre, fringe theatre, pantomime, walk on improvisation… in search for an agent.

Since January 2010 she’s has been one of the founding members of Spun Glass Theatre (www.spunglasstheatre.com) and have with them produced and performed at the Brighton and Edinburgh Festivals.

Voice credits include- Banana Split Productions, a young girl’s voice for a Fashion Angels Stickerzine ad that will be shown on Swedish CartoonNetwork.

Her Swedish accent is very neutral, but she can comfortably do the regional accents Gothenburg and Skaraborg. As well as Stockholm, though not as well practiced.

Having lived in London all her adult life, English has become more than a second language and Marie speaks at a native level with an accent close to RP with a twang of London.

She has a young, fresh and excitable voice and can easily do children’s voices. She is also a very confident singer (range E’3-E’5).
